MUSCLE TESTING Muscle Testing is a means of testing that can show up problems and imbalances in the muscular or skeletal system. It can show if the patient has subluxated or fixated vertebrae. It can show blockages in the lymphatic system. It can show food or chemical intolerances. It can show imbalances in the meridian system. All of which can relate to a dysfunction of organs or glands. Many problems, such as back pain, neck/shoulder pain, headaches, stress, anxiety, digestive or infertility issues can be resolved once the cause of any imbalance has been uncovered. Manual muscle testing is a method of testing muscles and evaluating weaknesses or imbalances that can be connected to a variety of issues. The therapist isolates a muscle and applies a small amount of pressure against it while the patient resists. From this the therapist can tell if the muscle reacts correctly or if it fails. Even though muscles can appear strong, by testing specific muscles in a certain way weaknesses can be uncovered. Highly trained sports people and even body builders can show muscle weakness and imbalances when tested correctly. Each muscle in the body has an opposing muscle. A muscle that bends a limb must have an opposing muscle to straighten it again. If a muscle becomes weak its opposing muscle can tighten and become painful. This imbalance of muscles can then cause misalignments in the skeletal structure leading to further problems. It can also be an indication that there are deeper issues within the body that must be addressed. If the treatment is simply to massage the tight muscle without strengthening the weak one, or addressing any underlying problem then the root cause has not been eliminated. The pain will return. The weak testing muscle must be made strong.
